Adair Commits to Providence College
Powell River, BC– November 25, 2011 – The Kings are proud to announce that forward Cohen Adair has committed to Providence College for September 2012.
Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Adair was recruited from the Stratford Cullitons of the GOJHL where he played with Craig Dalrymple. He joined the Kings at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season. Wearing number 22, Cohen is a talented offensive player with speed, size and the knack to the tuck the puck into the back of the net.
Kings' head coach and general manager Kent Lewis is proud of Adair saying, "He has proven to be a key player for our club. Players join this club to get better and move on to great NCAA programs. Adair has certainly improved over the course of two seasons and is now going to go on to a strong program where he’ll continue to develop his skills and get an incredible education.”
After receiving offers from several highly regarded NCAA programs, Adair chose to continue his post-BCHL hockey career with the Providence College Friars for a number of reasons. “I choose Providence College because of the team’s staff and the players. Providence recently brought in Union’s former coaching staff. These coaches turned the program around at Union and I am confident that they will have the same huge impact on the Friars’ hockey program as well.”
“The college consists of a very small campus with small class sizes which I like because it gives you more one-on-one time with the professors,” Adair notes. “Providence is also in the middle of doing major renovations on their athletic facilities which includes a huge addition to the arena. In the end though, the biggest impact on my decision to commit to the Friars was definitely the instant connection I had with the coaching staff and the players when I visited in early October.”
Cohen will be pursuing his passion for computer programming with a degree in Computer Science with a goal of working for a gaming company in the future.
