Hunter Andrew Commits to Canisius College

The Kings are excited to share that forward Hunter Andrew has committed to Canisius College for the 22/23 season! Hunter becomes the 7th Kings player to have a NCAA commitment.

The Virden Manitoba native is in his first year with the Kings and has been a staple on the top line this season. In 20 games he has 6 goals and 7 assists.

“I’m honored and excited to have the opportunity to play there for the next 4 years” said Hunter “I had a really positive experience when I visited the campus, and I really loved the facilities and the coaching staff”

Canisius is a division 1 school based in Buffalo New York and is part of the Atlantic Hockey Conference in the NCAA. Some teams in the conference include the Military and Airforce academies, Bentley University and R.I.T where his older brother Tanner currently plays.

G.M. Chad van Diemen is proud to have another member of the Kings go on to the NCAA. “We are really excited for Hunter and his family, it’s a big decision and we fully support him going to a great program in Canisius and we wish him all the best moving forward. His commitment doesn’t change our goals to develop him and we will make sure he’s ready to play when he gets there as a freshman.
