Kings Acquire Adamo Santia From Eagles, Trade Abgrall

POWELL RIVER, BC – The Powell River Kings have announced the acquisition of 2001 born-forward Adamo Santia and future considerations from the Surrey Eagles in exchange for 2003 born-forward Michael Abgrall.

Santia, a native of Richmond Hill, ON, recorded five goals and ten assists and appeared in 56 games for the Eagles during the 2019-20 season, his first in the BCHL.

Prior to last season, Santia played for the Newmarket Hurricanes and Aurora Tigers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League and is a product of the Richmond Hill Coyotes of the Eastern AAA Hockey League.

“Adamo is a veteran player who is coming from a very good program in Surrey and received excellent coaching from Cam Keith and his staff last season,” says Kings General Manager Chad Van Diemen. “We are hoping he can take another step in his junior career with this new opportunity.”

Michael Abgrall, from Richmond, BC, played in 62 games for the Kings between 2018 and 2020, tallying 13 goals and 27 assists for 40 points. In November 2019, Abgrall announced his commitment to the University of Nebraska Omaha.

“Towards the end of August, we were informed that Michael’s parents would prefer that he lived at home for this season,” adds van Diemen. “Based on the communication with Michael through the offseason, this came as a bit of a surprise to us.  We would like to wish Michael all the best moving forward.”
