The Kings are excited to announce the signing of 2006 born forward Lucas LeBlanc.

“We are very pleased to welcome Lucas to Powell River.” says assistant G.M. Stephan Seeger Jr. “LeBlanc is a young speedy forward and we are looking forward to seeing his speed and relentlessness on both the forecheck and backcheck in action. He has a sneaky release and likes to drive the net when given the opportunity.”

The 17 year old from Ottawa is another young addition to the Kings who are currently the youngest team in the BCHL with an average age of 18.26. Despite being a young gun, LeBlanc comes to the Kings with 78 games of junior hockey under his belt. Last season as a 16 year old he played in the junior “B” Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League where he racked up 44 points in 42 games. He would also suit up in 6 games for his hometown Ottawa Jr. Senators of the CCHL last year, before becoming a full time member of the team this year. In 30 games for the Jr. Sens he has scored 12 times with 4 assists and was top 5 in rookie scoring. “I’m super excited for the opportunity” says Lucas “I’m really excited to get going with a new group of guys and see what opportunities may come from this.”

LeBlanc will make his Kings debut this weekend when the Alberni Valley are in town for two games. Both games on Friday and Saturday are at 7pm.
