Kings back in with win

Two home wins would go a long way towards a comeback for the Kings in their best of seven series against Victoria.

One down and another to go tonight at the Hap after the Kings won 4-2 last night.

Kurt Keats, as usual, was the sparkplug for the Kings when he scored the first goal in under a minute.

He was the only King in the offensive zone against four Grizzlies when he pumped a shot by Renyard the goalie.

Matt Scarth added another one in the middle of the second period on a shot from deep in the corner that somehow squeaked in on the shortside.

Grizzlies scored in the last minute of the period on the powerplay and then tied it in the third before Scarfo threw on the jets and wired a shot by Renyard.

Scarfo flew down the right wing and when he cleared the defenseman let a low hard wrist shot go that went in just inside the far post.

From there, goalie Jonah Imoo and the Kings were successful in controlling most of the play until Brian Rideout scored into the empty net.

Another effort like that one is going to be needed against the Grizzlies tonight. Certainly the fans were treated to a great game between a couple of worthy teams battling for the division title.
