Kings Launch Kings Broadcast Network

The Powell River Kings are proud to announce the launch of the Kings Broadcast Network, effective immediately.

The Kings Broadcast Network is a 24-hour, live streaming online radio station featuring a mix of Kings and BCHL content. "This is a one of a kind project that gives our fans more content, more information and more access to the club" says Kings Broadcaster Alex Rawnsley. "The idea came from the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League, who have their last 5 or so games available on demand. I wanted to see how much further I could take that idea and, after 2 years, this is the result."

With the 2014/15 season set to begin September 20th in Chilliwack, the Kings Broadcast Network will be the host broadcaster for all 58 games during the regular season, as well as the entire playoff run. "Our goal was to create a central place where Kings fans are able to catch games live, and on replay" says Rawnsley. In addition to live coverage of every Kings game, the Network will replay games at various points throughout the day. "It's to accommodate fans, family and friends of our players who live outside of BC, as many families on the east coast find it difficult to start watching or listening to a game at 10pm" adds Rawnsley. "A staple feature in the schedule will be a 9:00am EST daily replay of the previous game.  This gives our east coast fans the opportunity to enjoy Kings hockey as they begin their work day."

The Network will also have scheduled programming featuring alumni updates, player profiles and feature interviews with key Powell River and BCHL figures, and already contains over 3 years of content. "This is something unique to our hockey club" says Kings Head Coach and GM Kent Lewis. "Anything that allows for a better connection to our fans and the parents of our players is a good thing, and I'm confident this will do that."

The Kings Broadcast Network is available online by visiting: http://bit.do/KingsBroadcastNetwork. The Network is also available on all smart phones and tablets with an Internet connection.

Businesses and supporters should contact Alex Rawnsley to arrange sponsorship options for all of the features of the Network including the live games.

The Powell River Kings will also be announcing a new FM radio broadcast partnership on Thursday, September 4th.
