A large crowd of over 1,000 fans wasn't enough to get the Kings over the hump against the Grizzlies.
Victoria got a couple of early goals to go up 2-0 and despite getting very close the Kings couldn't overcome the deficit.
Jarid Lukosevicius made it 2-1 on a great solo effort down the wing and through the crease to beat Dillon at 1:46.
But the Grizzlies got that one back at 8:24 before Luke Nogard, on the powerplay, picked up a loose puck off the faceoff and flipped it high on the powerplay at 15:56.
Down 3-2 Kings gave it their all but Victoria was successfull in holding them off and ultimately got an empty netter with 12 seconds to go.
A good effort by the Kings but in this game the Grizzlies got the lead and hung on win.
Kings wish the best to outgoing players Matt Scarth, Ryan Scarfo, Drew Dorantes, Brian Rideout, Luke Ripley, Kyle Chatham and Captain Aidan Wright.
A very good contingent returns next year when the Kings are once again, expected to finish high in the standings.
Early bird season tickets are great value and the Kings, while thanking you for your support this year, look forward to seeing you again next September.
