Kings slump continues

The only way to get out of a slump is to work your way out and the Kings tried to do that against the Cents on Friday night.

They got off to a great start with a lot of energy and the first goal when Aidan Wright's low slapshot from the point went in at 9:23.

The game turned on the Kings in a matter of minutes when the Cents got goals at 14:09, 15:54 and 16:37 to close out the first period with a 3-1 lead.

Kings regrouped during the break and brought in Jeff Smith to take over from Jonah Imoo.

Shots were 8-8 in the period and neither side could score on their limited chances.

Kings started to press in the third but the Cents got loose and made a nice two way passing play to beat Smith 4-1 at 7:11.

A couple of late penalties gave the Kings a big advantage and with Smith out a 6 on 3 but nothing doing against the Cents who withstood the pressure.

A tough pill to swallow for the Kings who had hoped to bounce back at home. They get a second chance to do that with the Alberni Bulldogs in town Saturday at 6:30 P.M.
