McCarrick Profiled by Smart Hockey

Kings forward Curtis McCarrick has been included in the most recent edition of the BCHL’s Smart Hockey Magazine, listing him as a BCHL Academic All-Star. The current issue profiles players from each BCHL team who excel not only on the ice, but in the classroom as well. Here’s an excerpt of the article, written by Brian Wiebe:

Much is made about travel in the BCHL for players in high school, but none may have it as difficult as players on the Powell River Kings.

With at least one ferry needed for any road game, players have to delicately balance time for hockey and time for school something first year forward Curtis McCarrick is learning this season. “Obviously player in Powell River the travel is a bit tougher, but I’ve realized that school is very important” McCarrick expressed. “It’s tough to balance with hockey, but achieving that balance is doable if I stay focused and driven.”
