Cents Win, Kings drop 3-straight

The highlight of Brandon Tidy’s first BCHL goal was overshadowed by another loss, this time at the hands of the Merritt Centennials, by a final score of 4-1. It was a game where few bounces went the Kings way, and a determined Cents team showed up to play, hungry for a win.

The Kings opened the scoring just over 2 minutes into the contest, with Tidy finding a loose puck and shovelling it through Centennials goaltender Lino Chimiunti to make it 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. After that though, all Merritt.

In the 2nd period, the Cents tied the game 2:20 into the frame with defenceman Brandon Pfeil getting a puck from a failed clearing attempt getting a shot that found the cross bar and in. 1-1. Then 8 minutes later, Mancuso for Merritt made it 2-1 going into the 2nd intermission and the Kings looked more and more unorganized.

The 3rd period changes little. The Centennials doubled the lead through Wilcox and iced it through Regan Soquila’s empty netter with 33 seconds left on the clock. Final score was 4-1 for the Centennials who pick up their 2nd win on the season and give the Kings their 3rd consecutive loss.
