Kings Showcase opponents revealed

The BCHL has announced the dates and matchups for the BCHL Showcase event that will take place at the Chilliwack Coliseum October 17-20.

The annual event will see each BCHL team play 2 regular season games that will be played in front of NCAA coaches, NHL scouts and BCHL fans.

“Our annual Showcase is the first step for many of our athletes on their journey to receiving an NCAA Division I scholarship,” said BCHL Chief Operating Officer Steven Cocker in a online statement. “Many relationships are built between players and coaches during the event, so this is always a very important part of our league’s schedule.”’

The Kings showcase will begin Tuesday October 18 at 1pm against the West Kelowna Warriors in the lone meeting of the season, then on Wednesday it will be an early morning affair against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks which will start at 10am.

With the Showcase happening early in the week it will mean that this portion of the schedule will be one of the busiest for the Kings with 5 games in 7 days with 4 of them being on the road. The Kings will play at home against the Bulldogs on Saturday October 15, then make the trip to Chilliwack for the two showcase games before heading into the Kootenay’s for a Friday/Saturday double header against the Cranbrook Bucks and Trail Smoke Eaters.

Last season the Kings won both their games at the Showcase with wins against the Wenatchee Wild and Cranbrook Bucks.
